Are you involved in research and science communication? Would like to learn how to communicate science and research outputs to the public in an engaging mode?

Sokoine University of Agriculture is organizing a special short training course for you. The course on Science communication and public engagement scientists, researchers, engineers, extension officers, information officers, public relation officers, journalists and public health officers to the basic best practices for engaging with the public. In this interactive course, participants will learn how to complex communicate science and research findings to the general public, and practice how to bring your science to life using strong storytelling techniques, messaging, and moving the interest of the audience. In addition, participants will develop individual plans that include a public engagement goal and address ways to engage a relevant audience with tailored messages. Participants will identify the next steps to put their plans into action.

Who is the course for?

Scientists, Researchers, Engineers, Extension Officers, Information Officers, Public Relation Officers, Journalists and Public Health Officers.

 TRAINING COST

The workshop cost is 500,000 TZS. A cost covers workshop fees, breakfast, lunch and certificates of attendance

COURSE DURATION

The course will take place from 21st to  25th, June 2021 (5 days).

VENUE

The Training Workshop is expected to be conducted at Sokoine University-Main Campus, Morogoro, SNAL Computer Lab.

Reminder

  1. Tuition fees (full) may be paid before or on the same day of training commencement
  2. Participants will be responsible for their travel and up-keeping costs
  3. For practical’s and exercises a participant may come with their laptop
  4. Participants should confirm their attendance four (4) days before
