Philbert Nyinondi is a science communication specialist with BSc. and MSc. Biological Sciences. He holds MA and PhD in information and communication discipline. Dr. Nyinondi is focusing on life sciences communication with considerable experience in conservation biology, biodiversity information, health communication, and technology and innovation. His researches deal with public sense-making of science and controversies technologies/innovations such as in biotechnology, nanotechnology, and climate change. He has vast experiences in science content analysis and consolidation, public engagement and policy-making in relevant science agendas. Dr. Nyinondi is a civil servant heading the Department of Information and Records Studies at the Sokoine University of Agriculture and a Chairperson of the Tanzania Public Health Association. He also serves in the secretariat of the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (Tanzania Node), coordinates the National Forum for Agricultural Technologies and a member of several professional networks.
